What's in a name, is it just a name, a mark to go by? Or
is it something deeper, something more representative? I'd
like to believe it is the latter. Before Dreamsoft Films,
there was Dreamsoft Interactive. Before taking a dive into
film, my (our) pursuits were purely digital and numeric. 'Interactive'
was a funnel for my creations as a programmer. Those days
have passed, and (with many supporters) I have pursued a career
in the artful world of Cinema.
Whats in a name? Well, I am a perfectionnist when it comes
to my work, be it a website, or a film. I'd like to think
of myself as an artist and Dreamsoft Films as my outlet for
all my cinematic aspirations. While Dreamsoft Interactive
(1999-2003) was just a mark, Dreamsoft Films is an identity,
a representation of what I want to accomplish as an artist.
The question still remains unanswered; and the answer is
in the name. I want to create worlds, express my views through
the lens, through a story. I want people to be absorbed in
my world, the way you become absorbed in a dream when you
lay on your pillow. A soft place to rest your head and create
your own worlds. My company is more than just a moniker to
label my work, it is a statement about me as a filmmaker.
So go rest your head, and soak in the world that awaits.
Thats the jist of it.
